The process of unrolling material through a press and utilizing a precision engraved steel cylinder die to roll over & cut specified shapes. Your material may be carried by a release liner and rolled onto a new core or sheeted into pads. Rotary dies can be made to cut all the way through your material and its release liner (metal to metal die-cut) or through the material and down to the release liner (butt or kiss-cut).
Benefits
- The fastest of all die-cutting methods. Great for mid to high volume. Speeds up to 500 fpm.
- Parts are consistently within tolerance
- Precision engraved tooling creates the same part, time and again, to tolerances as tight as +/- .02".
- Your emergencies are delivered on time
- Budnick has numerous rotary presses and we have adapted most machines to accept tooling from other presses. The cross tooling allows us to service your emergencies even when a piece of equipment is very busy.
- Design Freedom
- Because we can laminate various material substrates together, you can create your own parts instead of being forced to utilize standard products.
Our Capabilities
Metal-to-metal parts are created by cutting all the way through your material & liner to produce individual pieces. Butt cut parts maximize material utilization by crushing through product along straight lines.
Kiss-cut parts are a result of cutting through your material and down to the liner. A small matrix of scrap material is then removed to leave individual parts on a liner.
Sheeted goods are a result of cutting all the way through the part and its liner. Many times a multi-level tool is used to create a specific number of parts on a pad.
