Electron Beam Image (EBI) printing is the process of entering your desired print pattern into a computer program. Your material is then unrolled through the printing press. As the material passes through the EBI print station, the electron beam charges a roller in the pattern of your desired print. A toner is then applied into the charged areas and the non-charged areas are erased of toner residue. Finally, your material is sealed with a top coat if necessary and cured, or sealed with an overlaminate.
Benefits
- No printing plates are required
Many jobs require printing dynamic information rather than static information. EBI eliminates the cost of purchasing new printing plates with every change of information.
- Sequential Numbers
EBI is great for longer runs of sequential number printing or where thermal transfer print quality falls short of your specifications. Many jobs we currently process combine dual sequential numbers along with static logos or information.
- Freedom of material choice
EBI printing is not limited to standard label stocks. We are able to provide quality EBI printing on a variety of material stocks.
- In-line Processing saves $$$
Because Budnick's EBI printing is performed in-line with our laminating and die-cutting processes we are able to save you time and money while offering greater design freedom to your engineers.
Capabilities
EBI Printing is excellent for use on tickets, tags, labels, statements, forms and highly personalized direct mail. EBI Printing is ideal for large runs of consecutive numbers and variable information.
